PM Congratulates on ICAPP’s 20th Anniversary

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has sent a congratulatory message on Monday to ICAPP president, Jose de Venecia saying that the past two decades have been a remarkable achievement for the group. He says ICAPP has become one of the most impactful, respectful political organizations in the world and that mutual respect and unity in diversity are the strengths of the organization.

The Prime Minister says, “I would like to register my recognition of the members of the ICAPP in terms of offering humanitarian assistance to various parts of the world, promoting a culture of peace and dialogue, and building bridges of trust within the region and between regions. Trust is the most important asset in peace building and development.”

The Prime Minister has also praised the achievement of the Asian Cultural Council, an affiliated body of the ICAPP. He says ACC has emerged to be one of the prominent platforms in promoting conversations between different civilization, implementing culture-based development model under TECHO 100 Villages, and spurring cultural corridors development across the region.

Prime Minister has added, “As the Chair of Asia-Europe Meeting this year and ASEAN next year, Cambodia is fully committed to continuously advancing open, inclusive, and rules-based multilateralism for sustainable peace and development.”

Representative of the Cambodian People's Party in the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, Khuon Sodary,has attended the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties virtually on Monday. Sodary is also the vice chairman of the ICAPP Standing Committee and the President of the Asian Cultural Council.

The Cambodian People's Party, under the vision and wise leadership of PM Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party, has actively participated in the framework of political party cooperation in this region. CPP representatives in the ICAPP Standing Committee, include Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong, and the current Second Vice President of the National Assembly, Khuon Sodary who continue to lead the ICAPP and expand the prestige and leadership of the Cambodian People's Party in the framework of multilateral cooperation in this Asian region.

The ICAPP was established in Manila, Philippines in September 2000, aims to promote exchanges and cooperation between political parties in Asia. It is one of the largest political party networks in Asia, with more than 350 members of political parties from 52 countries.
